What is a CoreToon? It's a short comic that has a learning extension (questions, facts, an activity) along with it. It's like being a party guest– the comic is the party, and the learning is a goody bag to take with you!
Who makes CoreToons? We're a group of writer and artist friends who met while working on graphic novels for kids. We decided to have an adventure together and started a small comics newsletter. We've had such a blast making, thinking about, and talking about CoreToons, and watching it take shape. Many of us are parents and all of us have a deep appreciation for the medium of comics and its power to captivate kids and pull them into reading. We use that power here in a short form to share characters we love, stories we've polished, and knowledge we've built with elementary school kids, tying it in with the things they are learning in school.
